You're probably better off asking the yanks. I know they're cheaper, but isn't there a customs issue? I think you pay through the nose and it works out cheaper to get em here. Might want to look into it.

This might be true, but we've shipped a lot of exhausts to Australia and never had any troubles.
The only problem with the Termi 70mm system is that it come in a box the size of a refrigerator.
It usually costs us $100 to ship an exhaust global express, but this will be 2 boxes at $100 each probably as there is a max size allowed.
If you need one, we've got them in stock. As far as I know the ECU is fine as we've sent a few Termi over. Mostly I've sent ZARD and Arrow though which don't come with the ECU anyway.

I got one from overseas and installed it mid last year, No problem what so ever. Even brush polished and installed the manifolds myself to save some doe.
Most of the sponsers on the forums will mark it down to escape the import duty :)

Can you tell me more about this? I want the termi slip ons. The cheapest I've found them in the States is about $1,300US, which these days is probably about $1,400AU or thereabouts. My local wants $2,500. Too much. So.. if I were to get them from the US what would I do? Is the customs charge based on price? If so, can I maybe pay (for example) $900 in one instalment and the balance some other way to avoid the customs charges? Could anyone give any advice to help me avoid paying the $2,500 which I think is a bit ridiculous. Any suggestions would be great coz I want em bad. Cheers.

Hey mate,
I bought my full system and carbon rear hugger for 1500 pounds. Was roughly $3500 at the time. Emotouk is who I bought it off and just said to them to mark the price under $1000 aud to avoid import duty ( they marked it down as second hand and value or $300 pounds. Email emotouk ( sponsors in this forum ).

That is a hell of a good deal. I wonder what they would charge for the full system on it's own as I dont need a hugger. Think I had best ring them

I just added the rear hugger with the whole purchase as they where cheapest at the time.
Here in Oz the full systems is about 4500 to 5000 ( cant remember exactly ). One of the Aussie guys on this forum bought a system from emoto so I followed suit. This was before this forum had sponsers so it was quite a while ago.
I just purchased some gold marchaseini's due to the strong aussie dollar :) Cant wait :D

Buy OS if you can't avoid paying duty see if you can have items sent with Fed EX makes the whole process easier as you pay fed ex direct for the duty rather than getting a customs broker or doing the paper work yourself.
I purchased my system from E Moto worked out much much cheaper than buying here and that was when our dollar wasn't as strong as it is now so just ordered some Ohlins R/T forks fron Dan Kyle.

I seriously question the wisdom of posting that kind of information in a public forum. You leave yourself open to scrutiny by any authority that may view this, as well as jeopardise any possible future opprotunities for others.
A little discerning discretion can go a long way fellas. There are more private ways of communicating your experience should someone be asking a question.

make sure the price is under $1000 including shipping costs to avoid gst
if you go over the the$1k mark as well as gst 10%, you might be slugged duty of 5% as its motor vehicle parts
be careful out there

as a total aside, the photo retailers association is lobbying the government to reduce the duty free limit to $500 as its killing the local camera market (so they say)
this would be very bad for international buying for sure.
way to screw competition up, camera shops. well done
