40 thousand dollar R6 spanking all the liter bikes at VIR. 120 HP to the crank. Those bike he passed were all liter bikes. hahaha
My buddy neale's got a few skills, but it's mainly all bike here. LOL He wrote a great article on the bike as well (see below)

Good article. I read the story on the JJP R1 on that website a while back. However, I noticed that the owner of that R6 plans on racing that bike very soon; however, he has the BST carbon wheels which many organizations outlaw...so he'll probably have to ditch'em.
In any case, I'd love to have that kind of dough to throw around on track toys and even my own personal pit crew :) I've been looking into that VDL system, but I know it costs quite a bit to have it integrated nicely...maybe when I have some money to burn :biggrin

The video system was nicely setup on the JJP R6. My buddy Neale was out cornering and outbraking everyone on that bike. I'm looking into getting a wadded GSXR 750 or Daytona 675 and building a $40K sleeper track bike. Paint all the suspension black and take CF bodywork and do a stock paint job. Have the motor worked over with a custom setup suspension on it. That way everyone will be like:confused when I pass them on their liter bikes on the straights and into the corners.

Great Vid, and the rider was moving. That had to be the intermediate or beginner session at a trackday, or the "fast" group riders just sucked. I mean, when he rolls up on them, you can see how they are all over the place...
Not taking away from how fast he was though :wflag , it was like taking candy from a baby :badgerslayer

:1. I thought the same thing, when I saw how easily he caught most of them...especially on the straights. I wouldn't doubt if that was done on purpose--just to make the JJP bike look much better than it is :1poke. Although I'm sure it's a fast bike, there's no way an R6 with 120rwhp (according to the article) is pulling modern day liter bikes with expert group riders on the straights of any track :bitchslap

I think the Jamie James Yamaha's are way overpriced and way overrated. Definitely not worth the 40K price tag. :bitchslap

It was the expert class at VIR. The pilot on the JJP R6 was hammer down and can flat out ride. The bike weighs 340 lbs and that makes the 120 HP even more potent. He outbraked 5 guys going into turn 1 on the 4th or 5th lap in the vid. Neal told me there was a guy behind him the entire time on an R1 who came up to him in afterward asking what in the hell he was riding. The dude said that he couldnt keep up in either the straights or turns. :comperror
Not a bad way to spend 30K!
My buddy Neale said that Jamie got on that bike and you could just hear him screaming around the track at an insane pace. "He was always on the throttle!!"

No that was not the expert class. That was a NESBA trackday at VIR South which is not the race course but a short tight track used for track days. I am a control rider for NESBA and as you can see in the video there are CRs in orange t-shirts during the session. The Advanced group does not use CRs , we do not wear the t-shirt when we ride in Advanced. It looks like intermediate group pace, although he does look like he is one of the faster riders in that group. Notice all his passes are on the straights or on the outside in turns, that is the 'I' group passing rules.

On the 06, you can get 120hp with a full system, BMC race filter w/out the restrictor, a PCIII w/a custom map, and U4.
P.S-That thing is still not worth 30K! :bitchslap
P.S.S-You have to believe in the 80% rider/20% bike theory. I've seen guys on stock 06 R6's, 600RR's, ZX6R, even 250's, dismantle liter bikes on the tracks around here.

Sheesh, that might be a good bike, but that was a LOTTA SKILL, a lot.. when he was outbraking those other riders coming up on the corners, that wasn't no HP, that was all SKILL, and he was doing that a lot....:1 :1 :1

that also depends on the track my friend.. but i agree 100%
at Summit Point the 1000' s kinda run the show...
on a 750 decent shot..... on a 600.. very small chance.

that's more like it. the passing had nothing to do with a miracle 600.

True but most of it boils down to the rider. At Willow Springs Raceway here in California during WSMC events, there's guys on 250cc 2 strokes pulling in the same lap times as some of the 750 mod prod bikes are doing... and Willow is labled, "The Fastest Road in the West" so you would think that the higher HP bikes would have the advantage!?! What one bike can loose in the straight can make up for in the turns...:biggrin

I agree. A 600cc I4 doesn't sound as good as twin but damn are a blast to ride. A SV650 on the other hand is the best of both worlds! :biggrin

:1. Nothing sounds as mean as a Ducati engine, with an aftermarket exhaust and open clutch cover. However, I love the sound of my ZX-6R when I'm redlining it on the track, and it is a blast to ride!

40K for a supersport is ridiculous. Hell thats at least 5k more over the next 1200R that I am sure will spank the sh!t out of this 40k R6....just can't race in the same class.

Yeah,
Neale is a huge stud on 2 wheels and this video proves it. He's in the 200 MPH club (turbo busa) just tested the 07 Aprilias in Spain and wadded one when the kickstand malfunctioned and came down at 120 MPH... It's rare that you find someone with that level of talent who's not a full time racer... I guess testing them and writing about them is is all you can do at 47 and stay alive.

Doesn't the "200mph club" meant that the person had set an official LSR at over 200mph??? Or maybe even was the first to set it for that class at over 200mph?
My memory's shot...
jadesportster
01-10-2007, 10:04 PM
he got an LSR of over 200 MPH on Yancy's Hayabusa...
Article found on Wayne Pollack's trials on the same bike...
....Wayne rode Rich Yancy's (Engine machinist for Dale Earnhart Jr.) #8 Turbo Hayabusa. He ran four passes, all were over 253 mph. Wayne’s Exit speed was 258.1 which was the fastest open wheeled motorcycle run ever recorded. His fastest official average was 255.5 miles per hour. That made him the second fastest record holder on the planet (His Teammate Lee Shierts has the fastest at 256.3)...
My buddy Neale said the speed isnt the problem. It's the lack of control on direction and the friction. You can go as fast as you want to try before things explode.
