Greetings again to all...It seems as if this is a little utilized portion of the site, but I will try again. Anybody intersted in doing battle with "The Dragon" at Deal's Gap in the next week or two.:greg My schedule is fairly flexible. I was thinking about going during the week to avoid crowds and "woop woop" contact. Anybody interested?
Mark
I just came back, hit the dragon on the way home yesterday....but spent most of Fri and Sat in north GA :greg
Even at 9am on the dragon there were 2 cops! :scooter
Although a definite "must see" the dragon aint got nothing on the roads in North GA!

What brand of polizei were they, state, local, county, NC, TN? Makes you wonder when they will ease up on it... Phil, what were you riding? And you are right. There are lots of other roads as good, or better but, The Dragon is The Dragon...There are lots of awesome roads here local. I do like to like to check out where others are riding though.

I was there last weekend. Visiting a friend and his wife who live there and ride often. The "dragon" is overrated IMHO. It would be good if it weren't for the ever present cops who will ticket you for doing 33 in a 30 ( didn't get one but was warned by my friends who are locals to keep it down), and the massive numbers of cruisers doing 15-20 mph. Take both those elements away and it's a great road. Don't remember the strong police presence being an issue last year when I was there. Maybe they've had some problems and are cracking down.
That said, the roads around that whole area are awesome. Can't find a bad one, and the 1098 really shines on them. Had I read this post earlier I would have looked you up. Have fun.
