View Full Version : Ojai Ride Sunday 7-8 or 7-15
Guys,
My schedule is good for either Sunday the 8th or Sunday the 15th.
Meet in Valencia, ride the 5 to Frazier Park (get gas), ride Lockwood Valley Road (Anthony's favorite), the 133 to Ojai.
Have lunch, get gas (not because of the food) and ride back. 180 miles from Valencia. Great ride!

I will try to make it, I will keep you posted. How about riding thru lake hughes road and across pine canyon (very fun road), did this trip 3 weeks ago. I had the freeway.

Rock store at 10:30-10:45, left at 11:30 or so to Neptune's but no parking unless you wanted to park down the street... went back down PCH and had luch at some fish and chips place...

Ojai? You guys are really on the wrong bike, man. We got Ducati Superbikes, not the ST4s or Multistrada... what's up with the 150 mile 1-way rides?

Hey, I was at the rock store on Sunday around noon. It was too crowded to eat. So we went to Neptunes but it was also to crowded. So we headed south and had a late lunch in Venice Beach.
Let me recap. Left one restaurant crowded with bikers to go to another restaurant crowded with bikers to a third restaurant crowded with girls in bikinis. We stayed at the third place. Sometimes you just have to keep looking until you find something worth waiting for.

Ara, how long is the ride. Sunday night is my Monday morning. I can do it if i get to take a couple hour nap before I go in to work. Is a Saturday out of the question?
What r u guys getting as tire replacements. Got a nail this week. When I saw how much the new tire was I thought about just plugging it.

What r u guys getting as tire replacements. Got a nail this week. When I saw how much the new tire was I thought about just plugging it.
Get Dunlop Qualifiers. You can take those to the track too and they'll hold up better than anything street and do 95% of what you expect of DOT race tires.

Like I said Will, that was my friends car. (dick) However Sunday night is my Monday morning. I leave for work 4:00 pm or 5:00 pm depending what I take or ride to work. I get off at 7:00 am. So as u can c i'm out for most Sunday rides.

ACH Saturday 0900 hrs. I went up today. Passed 1 CHP going the opposite direction 75mph. He didn't even look back. Awesome ride, no traffic at all.

If I don't have to work this Sunday, I'll be riding to Ojai.
My usual route of Valencia to Frazier Park, Lockwood Valley road the 133, to Ojai.
9:30am at the Mobil station, corner of McBean and Decoro. in beautiful Valencia.
Anyone interested is welcome to join me.
I won't be altering my route becuase this is the nicest and most scenic route to Ojai.
I'll let you know in a few hours.

I hope you make it Sat. cause I out Sun. As far as the road surface goes I was a little sketched out cause its so new. It seemed a little greasy. I don't know if that even makes sense. It was still a lot of fun.

The roads actually were not greasy but the lack of lane markers made it hard to ride.
Like I said in my earlier post, I'm on for this Sunday Ojai.

Angeles was pretty cool on Wednesday. Pretty empty the whole time except for this 1 POS that almost killed Ant and another POS that won't yield so Ant had to cross the DY. That car was going so slow that vans and SUVs were honking at it to speed up!
We only saw 2 deputies coming down as we headed up and on the way down, we had an escort from Stout all the way to the bottom. He then told Ant to get his bike out of the sidewalk and park it in a REAL spot. Ant's such a trouble making squid.

So let me get back to ACH... yeah, the paved roads were great. I thought they were very smooth and grippy but I can't wait for them to put in the lane markers. If not for me then for the cars zooming down the other way!

Meet at Mobil near me at 9:30. Ride up the 5 to Frazier Park. Get gas at the Shell station, ride through Frazier Park to Lockwood Valley Road (highly rated on Pashnit) to the 33.
Head to Ojai on 33. Have fun on the smooth and very twisty road (again highly rated on Pahnit). Arive in Ojai, eat, gas up and ride back the same way.
Or I'll check and see if any alternate routes to the 33 might be shorter. I don't think so, but I'll check.
I hope Anthony, Gabe, Julio, Chris and crew go, but we'll see.
I know anyone who goes, will have a great time!

If you look at it from the back at 250 yards and you squint really hard, it bares a strong resemblance. Then again, at the same distance and vantage point, 1stAnt sorta looks like Angela Bassett...
