Any of you guys want to join me for a ride to the Rock store. We would meet Gabreal (998R) and some of his friends at his shop on corner of Sepulveda and Olympic between 9 & 10... Plan is to ride some of the Santa Monica's, a dodge the CHP's...

I wish Anthony, I have to work. Watch out for boulders on the side of the road, and don't leave your bike in the bushes, the cops will find it.:pokeDo you think that guy crashed a stolen bike?

Most likely in unless I decide to go ACH instead but it's all bad on Sunday with CHP, soccer moms in vans, squids, squid moms wearing vans, etc.

Hey Diablo, when Gabreal and I left we saw the bike in the bushes... it was destroyed... The forestry service road blocked that spot searching for the rider. People waiting to get through were out of their cars looking aswell. When we pulled up I told them they could quit looking because he was at the tree, they asked how bad were his injuries and I said not bad but he's complaining of a headache.... I think because of the condition of his bike they were expecting worse...
Will let me know if you want to ride out with me... if you decide to go...

Looks like I'll be joining you, Ant. I am at the track tomorrow and then I got a BBQ on Saturday so my 1098s riding day has been moved to Sunday.

Your no rookie... I know you and Will call each other with uniform tips and questions like "whats the pull on your trigger?"...
DiabloBlanco

I have absolutely no idea what you are talking about. I am a simple yet professional waste disposal specialist and believe Will is a long haul trucker or something...... therefor I can promise you our uniforms look nothing alike i.e. color and the like.:dunno

No doubt you guys learn to BS from the Perps...
And I did notice you have the same walk Will does...

I am not a long haul trucker, I haul my stuff instate only this year.
Now, Diablo I am not too sure about. There's something shady about his sanitation gig. I think it's a mafia front.

I just have a bad back. <break new thought> I was talking with Ara today and he mentioned that ride through wherever the hell you guys went(133 or 188 or ???). Maybe next weekend :poke Ara, you there? You gonna set that bad boy up? I bet the 5.0 is too busy in the canyons to mess with us.

Come on any more of you losers going with me to THE ROCK STORE! It would be nice to show up with a shit load of 1098's like it has been described in the past.
I have always found that comment funny. "As I was comeing down I saw a shit load of 1098's going up"...
That must look awesome and sound even better...
Ola all.
Actually I won't be able to do that ride 'till Sunday 7-15. After that is Moto GP time.
If you guys are up to it, let's plan on the 15th. About 180 miles round trip.
I don't know if Will can ride that long, but I'm sure everyone else can.
I know we all had a good time last time we did that ride with Devin, huh Anthony.
Anyway, let me know.

Rock store. Sunday July 1st. Sounds like a plan. Does anyone want to meet off the 76 and 15. Or was it 78. Or maybe 74 at the 5. Or how about the 5 at the 74. :dunno

How was the track Will?
Friggin' awesome. I rode harder than I ever rode there and I've been riding CA Speedway for 5 years, including both trackdays and WERA races. I paid for the 1-on-1 instruction and I worked with this kid who's going super fast without even trying and leading me and following me and vice versa. Then he let me loose and I was going faster than before with less effort. Simply amazing what good instruction can do.
I am so sore today and I don't know if I can recover by tomorrow so Rock Store might be a good ride since it's relatively non-stress, slow roads.
BTW, Neil Hodgson was there testing with Corona Extra Suzuki at the track and I got to meet him. Nice guy. Tall for a racer, same height as me, 6-02.

You know the best part of going to a trackday or racing is that you don't have to worry about cops or soccer moms at all.
1 guy crashed bad though and his bike burned up and he tore a ligament in his shoulder and he was supposed to be racing today and tomorrow at LVMS and then next week with me at Fontana. What a way to throw away 2 race days worth of points.

What are you trying to say? I didn't know I was riding with Royalty all this time, that would explain your extensive collection of exotic motorcycles as well as your "royal" figure.

I went to the speedway today to go check it out. A friend of mine was getting his R6 custom mapped. Came out with 115hp and 47lbs not bad right there. There must of been 4 1098's there, I didn't watch to much tho, it was fkn hotter then 2 mice fkn in a whool sock out there. 105 the last time I checked and it was 4pm??? wtha. So I'm hitting palomar again in the moring see anyone that's going there. I'll be the guy riding real slow on the read 1098 cuz of the possible cops. lol:threadjacked Sorta. Sorry bro's.

I checked my laptimer today and the temperature readouts were 105F for most of the time and the lowest was about 97F. I got to say though, I used Qualifiers yesterday instead of the GPs and they did just fine and after 1 hard day, they were still soft and not blued. Can't say the same about GPs.

What do you prefer gps or qualifiers? I have qualifiers
and just got gps, but don't know if I should take them to buttonwillow. It would be my first time with slicks...
Notorious DSB

GPs are DOT race with treads. Dunlop slicks are the KR108s, no? I used GPs for the last 3 years and love them to death because of the great feedback and immediate turn-in. They don't last long though.
I got a set of Qualifiers for free and tried them out last Friday at CA Speedway and they felt just as good with the same turn-in and feedback. No sliding and no missteps whatsoever.
I run tire warmers too, but I noticed the difference is at the end of the day, the Qualifiers were still soft to the touch and there's no bluing compared to the GPs which turn rock hard and blue after a hard day.
I am sure at a higher pace and race level the GPs will give you that little extra edge in ultimate grip but for my club racing needs, I think the Qualifiers do just fine, and they are cheaper too. Then I can take them off and use them for street bike still too. You can't lose!
Check out the article Sport Rider did a few months back where they compared the same brand tires' different model ranges on the track to see what difference, if any, did the sport-touring v. sport v. DOT race v. slicks make in ultimate performance.
The results are pretty shocking in that you find the performance does not warrant going with the slicks/DOT race tires all the time. It depends on what you think you can get out of them.
IIRC, the sport touring tires were within 2 seconds of the slicks in track lap times and these are with very good riders! I think for us, the difference will not be even noticeable because we can't milk the last ounce of grip out of the DOT races or slicks anyway.
