Any of you ladies planning on heading up to Willow the last July weekend? It's with Dustin and company, it's gonna be hot as sh*t, but just getting a head count to see how much folks plan on going!

I'm probably gonna go. I've been debating on whether or not I should hit up the Keith Code school @ Laguna Seca on July 4th, the guy called me today & said a spot opened up as I was on the waiting list. But dang, $450 for a trackday+gas+hotel...I'm gonna be at $600 by the time I get back home. I may just use the money towards the Trackdaz event.

This is with Track Daz!

Cool. Maybe I'll sign up for Race Group then, but I don't wanna be too slow and gettin in people's way. Last time I was there (only my 2nd time at Willow) I was running low 1:40's. My friend who races there said I could qualify for a novice race albeit in the back of the grid :lol

Will, are you signed up for Fontana (AMA config) on Sunday July 1st? If so, I'll see you there. I'm signed up for Lvl 2 with the 1098 :greg

You'll be fine! @ Willow, I'm about mid 30's and get passed all the time. My friend finished the 600 novice race with a 1:29 back in Feb and he was gridded 2nd to last! :notworthy

Not really, the A groups are usually half booked.

When? I couldn't imagine coming up backwards through T4a/T4b knowing that the only run off is 30 ft with a concrete barrier to stop you.

Bumpity bump bit*ches! :greg

Freakin doods from the R6 forum bought most of the Street and Sport groups! Sat has like 6 race spots and Sun has only 1!

Besides the extreme toaster oven heat factor, it's gonna be off the hook! :greg:greg:greg

Man, after spending most of the disposable income on an exhaust, this weekend's Moto GP festivities (hotel, tix, etc.) and a trackday on Fontana on Aug. 5th, I'm spent. Have fun though yall and post some pix of the event!

Hey Arnold, why don't you go to Fontana on Aug. 5th? :poke I believe a few other people are going... There's a garage to keep the heat off your back :sweat

BTW: The Sport Group shows 1 spot left for Saturday July 28th...

Hey Mark, when you ran Fontana last time, did you use the transponder system?

Yeah I used it and apparently they are gonna be using it from now on in hopes of separating people into groups based on their lap times. I think its a great idea, because I encountered a lot of slower riders in Lvl 2 which messed up my lap times, and jammed up a lot of the corners. Hell, if you look at the times they posted, I saw a couple guys in Lvl 3, that should've been in Lvl 1. and way too many guys in Lvl 2 that should've been bumped down to Lvl 1. I don't know if it's an ego thing or what, but too many people run in groups that are above their track skill level. I'm sure I could run a slow Lvl 3 pace @ Fontana with the right amount of room to breathe, and if it's way to crowded on Aug. 6th in Lvl. 2, I may run a few sessions in Lvl. 3 just to see what I can get my lap times to without interference.

L3 is not hard to do and if you can run anything sub 1:50 you are good to go. I thought I recognized your name when I was browsing through the time sheet on their website.

You know us scouts have to do that to spot potential racer recruits, right? That's the job of a retired racer in this business... <sigh>

I had to do L2 for the 2-on-1 training and almost t-boned a few guys too and had to drop the hammer on this 1 360 pound guy who rode straight upright on his zx10r so he flew past me on the straights and I finally had to outgun him out of a corner and keep the steam up and late brake and outdive him so I can get away from him. Dangerous situation because every corner I would almost run into him with his NO LINE riding style.

Yeah, I almost T-boned plenty of people on the last trackday, I would carry way more corner speed and the guys would turn in really early and screw up my line...I'm definitely running below 1:50 so I may switch to Lvl 3 on Saturday.
