it's the motorcycle license (M2 allows you to only operate mopeds). You should have one Arnie after riding all these years...:poke although my dad has been riding off & on for 20 yrs & just got his license 3 yrs ago (I drove him to the DMV :lol)

I thought they just called it the "M" classification, well at least that's what they called it in the midwest. LOL When I moved to California they just transfered it over.

There's a couple ways to get your M1 license in CA: If you're under 21 years of age you must complete a CHP certified Motorcycle training course, in conjunction with passing the written exam. If you are over 21 years of age, you can elect to take either a CHP training course or the DMV driving test (which is a little harder IMO as you must do figure eights in a 8 ft x 8 ft box :squid)

I got my M1 license when I was 17 years old so I had to take the CHP certified course but had my permit before as I had taken the written DMV course. The class was super easy as we were riding 100cc 4-stroke dirtbikes and thus they were easy to manuever. I was happy because I watched my dad struggle to pass the DMV driving course when it came to those figure eights :popcorn...:lol

Supposedly, the law changed in Jan. 2006 that states you must have a Class M1 (all bikes) or M2 (mopeds only) to operate a moped whereas before you only needed a Class C (car) license. But in all honesty, I laugh every time I see guys on a scooter, so as far as the ego thing I would be embarrased to only have an Class M2 license :laugh

Arnie, let my incident be a lesson to everyone that just because a car sees you next to them for a while and you suddenly pass them, doesn't mean they will automatically let you pass...that lady tried to shut the door on me but my guardian angel had my back BIG TIME :angel...:notworthy :angel Now I know what it feels like when I see the Pro racers rubbing wheels with each other :lol

Wasn't much we could do...she looked out of it anyway and I just wanted to get away from her after that. Funny thing is I wasn't even shaking afterwards cuz the only thing that I felt touch was my boot to her front tire; but Arnie and Mark said my back wheel had brushed against hers too :dunno. Anyway, sure I could've gotten angry and threw the :finger as I flew by, but what good would that have done? Anyway, I always pray before riding & it definitely works! :thumbup
