Pro Italia has a suspenion clinic that day. Tech session and have a pro for Race Tech help you with your setup. There's a morning and afternoon session.
Race Tech suspension clinics - May 26th and June 30th - reservations required, sign up now
Pro Italia and Race Tech's suspension clinic was so well received that we've scheduled two more - Saturday, May 26th (which is currently filling up very quickly) and Saturday, June 30th.
Pro Italia is looking forward to hosting a suspension tuning clinic and consultation by our good friends at Race Tech to be held on Saturday, April 21st.
The Deal: $20 and an advance reservation gets you a spot in either the morning or afternoon session by Ken Keene, a suspension specialist who works with Race Tech. Each session is the same and will start with a half-hour talk on suspension followed by Ken performing a 20 minute(ish) consultation one on one - adjusting your bike suspension (as much as possible) to fit your weight and riding style.
This is an inexpensive and excellent opportunity to have the high quality suspension on your motorcycle tailored to fit you. (Assuming fully adjustable suspension) Ken will adjust the sag front and rear and rebound and compression if available. Do you have the right springs for the style of riding you most enjoy? Do you have the right springs if you happen to be a very light weight or more heavy rider? This is an opportunity to learn these things and, should you not be jibing with your suspension, Ken can consult on the best way to adapt or upgrade your bike.
Spaces will be limited. You absolutely must make a reservation to attended either session so contact us now. The more of you that take advantage of this and sign up in advance, the more help Ken will bring to make sure that all will get what they need.
Contact Pro Italia Los Angeles at 818 249-5707 or sales@proitalia.com (sales@proitalia.com).

Ok, I got a spot for the Suspension Clinic on Sat. 5/26 at 4pm....so looks like I will ride Angeles Crest first, then go to the seminar at 1pm at Pro Italia :cool
Ducman Melvin, are you going to ride ACH first, or go to PI?

Ok I sent an e-mail the other day and no response so I just called and was told all-booked-up for saturday... Damn!
But Jake over their told me to just show up and best time would be in the morning because they are light in the mornings and are doing one on ones. He said the afternoon session has a few people scheduled as alternatives and the morning has none.
So I wont be able to ride in the morning guys but will probably head on up after I'm finished, if I get in...

That's what Pro Italia told me too, just show up and see if there's openings. Sounds a bit risky though to ruin a day's riding for a chance of setting up a streetbike.
I'm just going to ride it to Fontana and have Dan Kyle's guys do it for $30. That way I can ride ACH in the morning and then go set up my suspension later in the day. Then I race Sunday!
Did I mention the 996 is a monster on the track? I can't imagine what a 999 or the 1098 feels like on the track.
I still have my gix1k putting out 162+ rwhp and I've taken that on the track quite a few times but the 996 with proper gearing out-punches that bike in turns for sure.

:1. The guy on the phone even said that I may be able to bump up earlier (around 1:30) after the seminar/speech since some people definitely won't show. Also, Racetech is at every single Fastrackriders event ( trust me) & they charge $30 at the track to dial in your suspension. I'm only going Saturday because I can kill two birds by riding ACH in the morning & then having a Ducati specific suspension guy tweak my 1098 while saving $10 & possibly learning something new about my suspension that I didn't know before :). Hey Will, what time is your race on Sunday? What suit will you be wearing? I may come & watch you guys, my next fontucky trackday is July 1st (taking the 1098)...can't wait :greg

The racetech guy that does my bike went to Dan Kyle and he did my 996 on Monday and he will be there at Fontana this weekend too.
Racetech did all my bikes for the last 5 years, even if it's just to confirm that I already have a good setup, it's worth it to have that piece of mind.
My race is around 145pm, I think. Not sure cuz race day is always so chaotic. I'm wearing the Ness suit because the Marlboro suit is not too vented, and as Apriliabob said, it puts a big target on my back.

Yeah, I can only ride Saturday this week due to the race Sunday which I may not be able to do now thanks to some big wedding for a family benefactor....
Anyway, does anyone here want to do a Memorial Day ride? That's always a good day to enjoy a slow, leisurely ride.

Yeah that memorial day ride would be for me Lawman800. What time, ACH?
Since we already know the truth behind lawman. What does the 800 mean or are we gussing? cases solved? tickets per year? Bettys?

ACH, 9am as usual on Monday at the Shell, I guess unless anyone else has other suggestions. We can also go to Malibu on Monday since it's more leisurely and we can stop by Neptune's or my favorite, Malibu Fish Market, for their grilled squid sandwich.
Oh, btw, what truth is behind law? I recall there were no admissions of any sort other than an acknowledgement that cons and cops both have distinctive walks.

Looks good for me, so far, Mark.....8:15am Spectrum is fine. There's a 2% chance of failure, if so I will post up in the morning.
I still have my 1pm Pro Italia seminar....and 4pm suspension adjustment. Hopefully we'll all get done sooner.
DAMN...how does that (+1) show up automatically? I wasn't sure what it was until Arnel noted 8 1 5 am, lol

I am interested in riding with you guys tomorrow, Saturday. I would be riding over from Ventura. I know where the Shell Station is that you always talk about as a meeting point. Is that still the meeting place for your ride tomorrow? I rode today with R1Racer49, (Devin). We had a great day in the canyons above Malibu. I think he is thinking of ricing ACH tomorrow as well. If you can convirm the meeting place I'd love to ride with you.

Gentleman and of course Devin;
Hey;
I wanted to say it was a pleasure meeting all of you guys today. It was awsome to see all of those Ducati's in one place and ride with a large group of people who had respect for each other and for the areas in which they ride.
I normally ride alone and now I think I may be spending more time riding with other people. I love to ride and I am ready to ride with you guys anytime.
Let me know when you are heading to the coast and we'll ride the canyons of Malibu or head up to Ojai and run the 33. It's like Angeles Hwy to Palmdale, but three times as long.
Thanks again for a great day. Have fun tomorrow and, "be safe out there".:shock

Great ride today, I had a blast. It was a pleasure to meet all of you SoCal's, now it's your turn to come up to NorCal! Then I'll have the "home field advantage"!!! Seriously, there is a good amount of skill in that group. It was a very safe ride with people staying within their personal limits and the pack being pretty close in speed. I had a great time. 500mi so far this weekend and counting. I'm going for 1000mi!

That's why I took that detour through the 605 to 405...the 5 always bottlenecks.

Yes. Be carefull about the guy in the 50's comment I'll be there later this year. He said that when he told you about all the 1098's in one place that you would sh***t and be bummed that you were not there.
We had a great conversation. It must be pretty awsome to have a dad that not only you can ride with, but rides a Ducati as well.
You unfortunatly missed a great day of riding. Hope to see and meet you some time in the near future.:1
