Anybody been to to Tecate?

My riding buddies and I are contemplating a ride off hwy 94 and maybe ending up in Tecate. Never been there so if anyone has please give me some feedback if it's even worth going. TIA

Tecate was our point of entry into Baja last year.

A lot less busy than Tijuana, but still have to watch yourself to be on the safe side. We didn't stay in town so I don't have any recommendations for lodging.
