I'm looking to get my bike to a shop for the 7500 mile service. I called a couple of shops in the NJ/PA/NY area and here are the quotes i got:

Jack Trebour: $1200-$1300
DeSimmone: $625 (only seems to include valve check and oil change, nothing else. Without oil change it's about $470 just for valve check)
Fast By Ferracci: $800 (they said they replace the timing belts. Without oil change the price drops by $75)
Rockwell Cycles: $800 - $1000 (they mentioned the timing belt might need to be replaced)

I haven't comitted to one shop yet, but i am leaning towards FBF, but i'm a little scared since people's experience with them has been 50/50. I would really like to take it back to Jack Trebour since i had my first service done there, but $1200-$1300 is really steep.

Looking for other people's input and experiences before i commit to a shop.

WOW DNA quotes it at,
7500 mile service - $ 256.88
After 7500 mile Valve service ("Service A") - $ 294.80, pretty sure this is only if the valves need adjusting and these prices are before tax with a small margin for changes in labor rates

You should mention what DNA quotes and see what they say, i actually intend on contacting DNA before i get my 7500mile service done and getting the word directly from their mouth.

I called cross country but they don't even have a price for the 7500 mile service yet. The service manager said he would put together a quote and call me back. Still haven't heard anything from him yet.

Got a quote of $800 plus parts and consumables from Coleman Powersports in Woodbridge...

I was having some pretty good valve racket going on so I'm letting them give it a good once over... They only have one Ducati guy who does the maint and he seems to be really meticulous...

My baby better not have a single mark on her when i pick her up...:twisted

I have heard some Japanese scratch and dent horror stories about the place, but never anything bad about Ducati's...

I took my Monster there for the 7500 - 3 weeks, and I'm pretty sure they left it outside for one of them (it never had rust on it before). Maybe their storage area has a roof now.

Also told me I needed new rear brake pads. No, I didn't. Otherwise good - they didn't adjust any valves. I'd think if a shop wanted to jack you, they'd adjust some valves that didn't need it.

My shit better not have rust on it or i'm going to flip TFO. It better be just as clean as it was when i dropped it off...

Anywho... Back on topic...

The final # on my 7500 mi service was $1122.92

TB's were waaaay outts sync (Resync'd)

CO was at 1.5 now 4.0 via gas analyzer

Battery box hold down tab broken (waiting on that)

Intake valves were out quite a bit

Belts were waaay too tight

Steering Head bearings were loose

changed clutch & rear brake fluid

lubed all the pivot points

Rear sprocket recall completed

I have a new BLUE Chain and front sprocket to go along with the new rear sprocket...

I'm now ready for the INDY road trip...:yahoo

Do throttle bodies un-sync themselves??? Do belts tighten themselves?? Thats a lot of $$$ to correct things that were not set properly to begin with. No????

I think RADRB8 got his bike where I got mine - setup ($400) comprised screwing the mirrors on. Mine still had the plastic on the clutch cover, and I lost 3 bolts in 100 miles. Oh and stalled 8 times on the way home.

Much bitching & moaning didn't help me.

Accodring to the folks i have talked to, belts are normaly a lil on the loose end when they see them for the 7500 mi service, unless they were adjusted too tight from Ducati which can and has happened. Just remember it's a belt not a chain as in the jap spec bikes...

Throttle bodies do get out of Sync over time and the CO setting changes as well... You could buy the race ECU and Full system and install it yourself and it will run with the settings that are pre set, but it will more than likely run LEAN as mine did...

To Sync the TB's it is a pretty intricate process and HAS to be done with a gas analyzer... She idles smoother and has great throttle response and not so choppy in 1st gear anymore... Could still use a PC tho...

MONGO: I did not buy my bike from there... I bought it from a private owner in TN who bought it originaly from Trebour Ducati in NJ... Have NEVER bought anything new from there and NEVER will... For the reason you stated...

I am very satisfied with my service and she runs AWESOME now that everything is working as it should...

The way mine runs now compared to before... I'm happy to pay that... Do I think it's a bit high, Yes. I have not found an area dealership to be any cheaper. Even Ducpond was in the range that i paid. I just could not wait 3 more weeks to bring it in for the maint...

I am not 1098 owner as of yet, but look to be one very soon. I need to pay off my commuter bike that I bought in July (FZ1). Point being that all bikes need to have the TB re-sync not just Ducati's. It is based off drawing equal vacuum from each cylinder. This will sync or equal fuel/air mixture between the two for smooth throttle. Many bikes are done at 1000 miles.
